When creating this professional learning, I initially got too focused on implementing the five principles of professional learning. When I was able to step back and look at the whole picture, I realized that these are not necessarily linear principles. They will appear often and everywhere, sometimes all at once. Through feedback I realized that if my plan is to implement blended learning, the training should embody everything about blended learning providing staff the same opportunities I provide for my students.
The professional learning plan includes Instructional Coaches working with current teachers (of all subjects) that have implemented blended learning, to provide training for other teachers. One part of this training is to create modules to upload into our current LMS (Learning Management System). The first module I would like to include, the what, why, and how of blended learning. The "what" will provide background information, the "why" will provide benefits and successes of blended learning, and the "how" will provide step by step instructions of how to create videos, and embed them into the LMS. This will provide teachers the foundation they need to understand and implement blended learning into their classroom. The modules will be in sequential order, so that a teacher must go through the module in the order specified by the professional learning team. These modules will be designed to provide teachers with enough time to understand the concept, work through them at their own pace, collaborate with colleagues, create hands-on videos, and provide tools relevant to their specific class (Gulamhussein, 2013).
Each Module will consist of an introductory video, which will introduce that section and give an overview of what will be learned, made by one of the staff in the professional learning team. When I created the introduction video, (PowerPoint Link) I took into consideration building an effective PowerPoint using minimal words on slides, using animations to guide the audience, and using graphics to enhance the presentation (Phillips, 2014). This video will be followed by other relevant content found by other sources, Khan Academy, YouTube, and Ted Talk. Then each video will be followed by a discussion. The discussion will be an opportunity for teachers to collaborate and have meaningful conversations between colleagues. This will give instructional coaches opportunities to discover and provide support to eliminate concerns or answer any specific questions for that teacher. In the last module, there will be assignments embedded into each section to give teachers hands-on activities to try out specific methods or software. In the "how" of blended learning module, there will be content specific videos, showing teachers how to create, develop, and share video resources for their classes.

The audience will initially be directed towards the CTE (Career & Technology) Department. We all have access to computer labs or access to laptops every day. After the department has worked through successes and failures, I would like to extend the audience even broader to the whole school. Currently, there are not enough devices for every teacher to have access to technological devices daily. I believe in the next few years with purchasing chrome books, school-wide we will have one device per student in every class.
The Call to Action
Educators set high standards for a student’s learning environment. We provide students with many different ways to learn, collaborate with peers, work with hands-on experimental projects, and provide student’s time to understand concepts. Professional learning for educators’ should be held to these same standards. A “sit and get” model is not effective, nor is learning in isolation. We deserve real opportunities to learn through support, doing, and collaborating. We need to be provided time to explore new methods, and relevant content that we can use in our classroom. I believe with reflection of my "what, why, and how" of professional learning , my call to action video and using BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal), 3-Column Table, Influencer, UbD models, and 4DX (The Four Disciplines of Execution) embedded into my professional learning plan, we have the tools to transform to an effective professional learning.
